Sense of Place

Home is full of so many memories. We look back at places and reminisce a memory that once happened there. It's almost unforgettable.

Cultural Studies: Self Identity

Writing an essay about your identity gets personal. It dates back to my early teens when make up and straighteners weren't part of my life. I would start to flee the nest and socialize in the surroundings where I live. It lead to meeting new people whose first impressions of me were slim.
"You're ugly" "You look like a boy" "You will never get a boyfriend"
Constant chants I heard, so it was time to make a change and if society couldn't accept me for who I am then I would have to accept society.
I started making more effort with my appearance right down to the underwear I wore and surprise surprise, I got noticed. Someone seemed to accept me for who I was with this new "identity". From then it was my motivation to continue keeping up appearances and I pampered myself endlessly.
The more attention I got, the confidence grew and I ended up being part of a group of males which involved a lot of banter. I was finally somewhere I had wanted to be for a long time but still deep down is my real identity; a young, immature girl that will never be seen again.

 Multi-exposure

For P8 The Constructed Image, I am working with multiple exposure and the combination of human and animal. It will define the animal within and together, we produce a new form of creature. These are current test photos which I will develop throughout the module.
